The Traverse has some options when it comes to trims and configurations. The trims that you can find are the LS, LT, RS, and Z71. If you’re wanting something a bit more adventurous, then the Z71 is what you want. This comes as an AWD, nd has some features that set it apart from the rest.

The features that you can find are a 1-inch higher ground clearance, all-terrain tires, a standard trailering package, and even a Terrain mode that will allow you to tackle the outdoors with ease.

The rest of the lineup can be found as FWD, or even AWD, excluding the LS. This is due to it being exclusively FWD.

This generation did a good job of setting it apart from the ones before it. They did this by including a massive 17.7-inch touchscreen. This is two times large as previous displays.

Other configurations to be aware of are the seater. If you have a large family, you may want to keep an eye out for the LS, out and some LT trims. This is because the vehicles might have 8 passenger seating.

If you don’t need 8 seats, then some LT trims, all RS, and Z71 trims will come with 7 passenger seating, giving the second row captain's chairs. For the first time, the Traverse sees the AutoSense liftgate feature added to the lineup.

No matter the trim, the engine remains the same. This is the 2.5L I4, producing 328 horsepower, with the ability to tow 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Despite this generation being longer than the first, this one weighs 111 pounds less. Despite weighing less, it still offers both 7- and 8 8-passenger seating.

There were a total of trims that were available on this generation. These were the L, LS, LT, Premier, and High Country. The L and High Country trims were locked to FWD on the L, and AWD on the High Country, with all other trims having an option.

For those who want a bit of choice in the engine, then you’ll need to look for an FWD RS model from 2017-2019. This is because it was the only Traverse to come with a unique engine. This engine was the 2.0L I4, while the other trims had the 3.6L V6.

Despite the 2.0L I4 being slightly more fuel efficient, at 22 MPG combined. The overall want for it wasn’t there, which ultimately led to it being discontinued.

Taking some tips from other SUVs in the Chevy lineup, some new tech was added. This is a hands-free power tailgate, MyLink infotainment system with phone connectivity, power-folding third row, and a standard keyless access with a push-button start.
