This generation started recently, making it harder to find, at least for now. But as time goes on, they'll slowly enter the market, so we'll take a look at it. This generation comes in three trims: the S, SV, and SR trims.

While two 7-inch screens are the standard feature, they can be upgraded to 12.3-inch screens, giving you something to look for when these show up on used lots. Some other optional features are a 10-speaker Bose system, as well as a wireless charging pad. While the smaller screens come with Bluetooth connectivity, the larger screens come with wireless phone connectivity thanks to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The S trim comes with cloth seating, while the SV and SR trims come with leatherette seating, making it more upscale. You can also be on the hunt for models that come with heated seats, making it easy to stay comfortable when the weather gets cold.

For now, the engine that powers this generation is the 2.0L I4, and it is more powerful than the first generation's engine, coming in with 139 horsepower. This engine also comes with an EPA-rated 31 MPG combined, and when combined with its nearly 12-gallon gas tank, you can get up to 369 miles on one tank.

Nissan aimed at keeping this model as safe as before, and this year, they were able to achieve the IIHS' Top Safety Pick again. They were able to do this thanks to automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist, while being assisted by the available adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature.

While this generation is technically over, the Kicks Play made its debut in 2025 for the US. The main Kicks model came in the S, SV, and SR trim, much like the most recent generation. No matter the trim level, you can find a 7-inch screen, and while this isn't the biggest, Nissan was still trying to find their footing with this model. If you want phone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, then you'll need an SV or SR.

Despite the screen being a bit smaller, it does come with a rearview backup camera, making it a safe option for new drivers and more experienced ones alike. Some other features that help aid in making it safe are automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring. This helped earn the model Top Safety Pick in 2019 from the IIHS.

Much like the newer model, this one comes powered with only one engine. This engine is the 1.6L I4, and it comes with 125 horsepower. While the horsepower leaves a bit to be desired, the combined MPG makes up for it. This is because it comes with an EPA-rated 33 MPG, able to go up to 356 miles on one tank.
